Salmon and sea trout

Salmon and sea trout are farmed in the clear sheltered inshore waters among the many uninhabited islands which make up much of Shetland.

Perfectly located for the production of farmed salmon and sea trout, Shetland farmed fish are grown in a close-to-naturally-wild environment.

Fish farmed in Shetland’s clear fast flowing tidal waters produce a firm fleshed wild-shaped fish due to the fact that they have to continually swim to position themselves in the water to live and feed.

Once ready for harvest they are taken live by boat for processing to maximise freshness and shelf life.
